Trick or Treat

Here is the whole scary bunch of us, we kind of went with a dark, black theme, creepy.

Mollie, the kitty cat. I love her little pink nose and doesn't she look like she's purring.

Elise is the Wicked Witch of the East, as she puts it, "The one the house fell on."
Reagan wanted to be a Vampire with Gold sparkling ears, (What are ya gonna do?)

I am Spider lady, a little much I know, but I really like Halloween.

Thank-you Ashley for Hosting a really fun Halloween Party last weekend so we could get together with friends in costume, lots of fun.

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid!

Pumpkin Crafts

A friend gave my mom and fun decorated pumpkin that will work for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I loved it and so decided to make some for our Enrichment Night decorations and then keep them for my home. They were so easy to make and it only took me about 10 minutes to put together. They need to dry overnight before adding the leaves, but that was not a big deal.
What you'll need:

• Craft Pumpkins, (Michael's $10.00 for the large and $6.00 for the small, they are currently 50% )
• Craft paint, any metallic fall color will work
• Fabric Paint, I used two colors, but you can use one or more
• A brush
• Fall foliage
• Gold wire, I used bow wire, because it was .99 cents for the pack, but it does no hold it shape as well as I would have liked
• Straight pins
  

After I painted them with 2 coats, I let them dry to the touch and then just drew designs in a random pattern all over. I let that dry overnight, then with straight pins attach the leaves and any other fall embellishment that looks good. For the wire just twist it around a wooden spoon and either hot glue it or again use a straight pin. Lots of fun and so easy.

Reflection

I decided today for this post to just simply list a few of the funny things that have happened in the last couple of days. Now as I look back they are funny , but at the time many of them happened, not so funny, but this will give you a glance as to why I have not posted for a few days.

1. Dropping my blender that was full of tomato puree. Did you know they bounce and the contents can fly as high as the ceiling? New info to me, but got a picture of that one.

2. Fighting off light saber attacks on my vacuum as I vacuum my house.

3. Bleaching all bathroom toys, Cometing my bathtub for the 3rd time this week while my 10 month old, once again sits on the cold bathroom floor, naked, waiting as I clean the poop out of the tub.

4. Cutting out, organizing, picking up vinyl letters 3 different times, collecting money, creating numerous spreadsheets to keep the money thing on the up and up, practicing and failing umpteen times to learn and be able to teach how to do vinyl letter tiles, loading and unloading 200 tiles into the church and then back into my van, going to the church to set up tables only to find another ward beat us to it and used the tables, burning my potato soup base and having to start all over, dropping the tomatoes (read above) for my tomato bisque and having to start that all over, working on getting Reagan's temperature down so he could go to his pumpkin carving party at the school at 6, making sure Tyler gets home from work in time for me to leave so he could take Reagan to the pumpkin carving and get him back to the house with Grandma and Grandpa Morgan so he, Tyler, could get to work by 6:30, and then walking into the church with a big smile on my face and enjoying Enrichment last night.

5. Coming home at 9:30 to my 3 amazing kids running out their room to tell me they missed and they love me.

Anyway, that's what I have been doing in the last 24 hours, pretty crazy, but I think I can breathe now for a minute.

History

Since I started teaching World history with the IDLA, I am finding myself getting sucked back into one of my true passions in life, History. I am fascinated with anything historical and it is really fun to be researching history again. Tonight I was trying to find an answer and came across a History Blog and I can't tear myself away from it. It the blog of author Michelle Moran who wrote Nefertiti. Elise's Eyes

I was organizing my pictures on my computer and came across this picture. Isn't she so cute and look at those EYES! (Click on the picture to make it bigger so you can really see them.)

A Evening at the Falls

Tonight we all went down to the Shoshone Falls to try and capture some of the beauty of fall with pictures of the kids. We took 82 pictures in all and I think there are about 2 that I really like as far as a formal type picture. There are some really cute candid ones, so I think we will focus in that direction for this photo shoot and let the professionals help us out on a real family picture. We focused mostly on the kids for this but I jumped in on a couple.
I have to say the kids seemed to have a good time, but the reality of a photo shoot:

• They preferred throwing the leaves rather than sitting in them
• Reagan finally said forget this
• Elise had more fun rolling down the hill and getting dirty and
• Mollie just did whatever she wanted to.
