Part II
Remember the story of Reagan the "infamous" meal. Well here is what has happened since. The other night we were sitting around the dinner table, once again having to suffer through the horrible, disgusting food I make. I think it was French Bread topped with Stroganoff and cheese, very yummy, (at least Tyler, Myself, Elise and Mollie and thought so). Well Reagan was having a hard time consuming his 5 bites and Tyler told him if he plugs his nose while chewing he won't have to taste it. You would have thought we had handed him a million dollars, his eyes lit up and he immediately threw a bite into his mouth, with his nose plugged, and chewed away. When he was done, he shouted in utter joy and excitement, "It works, now I can eat all the food you make that I don't like!" and then proceeded to finish his serving. I am not sure how I feel about this, but I know Reagan is ecstatic. Go figure.

When the cat's away the mice will play
Let me rephrase that, "When the mom is busy doing other things and not focusing 100% of her attention on the children, they will get into everything and destroy what they can." That pretty much sums up my day today. I spent a little more time on the computer than I usually do during daylight hours and I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
Mollie found the DVD and Video cupboard open and had a heyday, I actually let this go on for a bit because she was really having fun and luckily nothing got too destroyed.
I came out to two little girls giggling and having the time of their lives. Look closely that is half a box of Rice Krispies dumped into my shag carpet.
I immediately pulled out the vacuum and then realized "Hey, why am I cleaning this up?" so here they are having more fun vacuuming, the picture doesn't really show that, but they got a kick out of it.

My new love

I have decided to start a new tradition in my family, Red Pepper Jelly, oh my gosh, I love it. A couple years ago the Brownings gave my parents a little Christmas butter dish with a Santa knife along with a package of cream cheese and a jar of Williams Sonoma Red Pepper Jelly to go on top of the cheese and use as a dip for crackers. I loved it. This year for Thanksgiving Hors D'oeuvre I decided to make a Baked Brie and top the Brie in side of the Puff Pastry with Red Pepper Jelly. I found a jar of Raspberry Pepper Jelly from Aloha from Oregon, (pictured above) at TJ Maxx and it was so good, I wanted to eat the whole jar by myself. So I have decided that this is going to somehow be a part of my holiday. I think I preferred it cold with the cream cheese, because it melted down too much in the pastry. If you have never tried it, give it a shot and let me know what you think. I do have to say, Jacque did not care for it, but everyone else I think liked it.

Mollie is Walking
OK, so I was finally able to get a brief video of Mollie walking, she has gone across a room, but this took enough effort, I figured it would work.

This is cool!
So I was at my parents the other day and saw this quote hanging on their fridge and it just gave me chills reading it, so I thought I would post it here, tell me what you think about it.
You were generals in the War in Heaven and one day when you are in the spirit world, you will be enthralled by those you are associated with. You will ask someone in which time period they lived and you might hear, "I was with Moses when he parted the Red Sea" or "I helped build the pyramids
" or "I fought with Captain Moroni." And as you are standing there in amazement, someone will turn to you and ask you which of the prophets' time did you live in? And when you say "Gordon B. Hinckley" a hush will fall over every hall and corridor in Heaven, and all in attendance will bow at you presence. You were held back six thousand years because you were the most talented, most obedient, most courageous and most righteous. Elder Boyd K. Packer

Josh Groban: Noel

I just went to Target and bought the Josh Groban Noel Christmas CD and I love it. Yes, I am listening to Christmas music and I don't feel one bit bad about it. The funny thing is that although cold outside, there is a beautiful blue sky and the grass is still green, so it is a lttle tough to get into the spirit of it. His Little Drummer Boy version is probably the best I have ever heard of that song, the guitar soloist is amazing. The CD also comes with a Bonus DVD of the Making of Noel and I am excited to watch that. I'll let you know what I think.

Did someone say Friday the 13th?
Is it Friday the 13th? Did a black cat cross my path? Did I break a mirror?
I don't think so, but I have certainly broken a few too many things in the last 24 hours. Here's the list.- First of all I got up Monday morning to go walking with my mom, so it was really cold outside and the passenger window in my van dropped down for no reason, we took it in and it has a broken cable, so it is in the shop until they get that fixed.
- That same morning I was dusting my bedside table and knocked the lamp off, it broke. Now this lamp was one of my grandmother's, it is not a real sentimental piece, but it has lasted for many, many years and I broke it.
- Later that afternoon, I turned on my curling iron to do Elise's hair and the button was busted and I can't get it to turn on or off, so now I need a new curling iron.
- Today, I was doing laundry and I turned to close the dryer and knocked a little wooden wall hanging off my wall, it busted in half. I have knocked it off the wall 100 times and today it breaks.

Mom on Strike!
So Here's the story. Saturday I made Ravioli Lasagna (Thank-you, Ashlee) and it was so good. We all loved it except of course for Reagan, because if it isn't swimming in syrup or sprinkled with cinnamon sugar then No Thanks! Anyway, after our usual , "You have to eat 5 bites" and not getting anywhere with that, we all got up and left the table except Reagan who knew if he didn't eat his 5 bites then there was not going to be anything else to eat for the night. I started to do the dishes and Reagan very casually asked, "Mom, how come you always make food I don't like and then make me eat it?" With that I calmly said,"Fine, don't eat it, and I am done cooking, you can make dinner tomorrow Reagan".
I did not realize how this would backfire on me. He took it to heart, told his whole church class that I won't feed him anymore and he has to make all of his own food. Then when it was time for dinner, he pulled out the tortillas, the fry pan, a spatula, the butter and cinnamon, and there was our Sunday Night dinner.
Tyler was a trooper and stepped in to help, poor guy got tortillas on fast Sunday for dinner. (I did heat up some lasagna for him, so don't worry I took care of him.)Reagan now doesn't want me to cook anymore, he wants to do it. Why wouldn't he, he can make whatever he wants. Today he wants pop-up pancakes and then cereal tomorrow and he will make it all.

(Of course, I had to go back and rewash all of the dishes, since we don't have a dishwasher and this was all done by hand.) Needless to say, Big Time Backfire! I am happy to report, much to Reagan's chagrin, I am off strike and back in the kitchen ready to make more food my children hate and I force them to eat.

I tried to make my point a little stronger and told him he also had to do the dishes, he was thrilled, pulled up a chair to the sink and went to work.

Amazing Race
Amazing Race starts tonight, so Get Ready, Get Set, Go. We love the Amazing Race and one day, if the show is still up and running we want to be a part of it. Imagine a race around the world, we don't even care about the money, just the adrenalin and the sights. Wow.
