The Twin Falls Triathlon

Tyler ran an awesome race and at the end the kids wanted to race with him, and the great dad he is, he raced with Reagan and Elise.

Tyler did a great job, only two weeks until the spudman.

"I feel pretty, Oh so pretty...

I feel pretty and witty and wise!" This morning Elise informed me she really likes make-up and she likes to put it on, not having me put it on her, but she herself wants to apply the make-up, so I thought what the heck, and she had a ball. She spent almost 40 minutes primping and making herself look pretty.

Please note what she is holding in her right hand as I took this picture. Yes, it is the top of my lipstick, "Oops, sorry mom."

Time for Shots!

We had doctor's appointments yesterday for Reagan (Pre-K) and Mollie (7 Months) and they both came out great.
First Mollie:

  1. She had two shots and handled it fairly well considering someone jabbed a sharp needle into her leg and shot painful fluid into her blood, you know the routine.
  2. She weighed 15 pounds 3 ounces and is in the 20th percentile
  3. She was 25 3/4 inches tall and is in the 25th percentile there
  4. Her head is still in about the 2 percentile so we have decided she is a bit of a pinhead, in the nicest way possible of course.
Reagan: First a brief story. We gave him plenty of warning that we were going to the doctor and he was going to have shots, I didn't want to scare him, but I wanted him to be prepared and throughout all of it he seemed excited. I wanted him to know what was going to happen and yet he was still very anxious for the shots. I finally realized why, it was a challenge, he wanted to see how tough he could be. Well he proved himself a true hero, he didn't shed a single tear through the whole thing, and after the shots were over (4 shots to be exact), he jumped off the table and smiled.
  1. He is 43 1/4 inches tall putting him in the 50th percentile
  2. He weighs 42 pounds and is also in the 50th percentile on that one as well.
Over all they did fantastic and I was very proud of them. Elise came for moral support and was a great comfort to her siblings.

Here is a picture of Reagan's 4 shots with the bandaids, he wanted you all to see.

Surprise!

Yeah, a surprise visit from Aunt Jacque and Uncle Mark and their friend Bobby. They were on their way down from Seattle, heading home to Provo and called as they were passing Jerome to say hi, but sorry they couldn't stop, as they needed to hurry home. We were sorely disappointed so I did what I do best, I called them up and offered Hot Fudge Brownie Sundaes if they would come and they came Yeah! Now I don't know if what I do best is make desserts or put people on guilt trips but either way it worked and we got spend a few minutes with them and enjoy brownie sundaes. Carl, Paula, Kya and Dad also came over, so it was a little preview to the upcoming Family Reunion next week. Love when family comes to see us!

Mollie Anna

My sister Rachel took this picture of Mollie at our family BBQ on the 4th of July and then made it into a digital scrapbook page, and I love it, both the page and the picture of Mollie. Nice work Rachel and thank-you. She is amazing at the digital scrapbooking and her daughter is gorgeous, check out her work. Rachel's pages

Happy Fourth of July

Happy 4th of July!
Yesterday was such a fun holiday. Tyler, Reagan, Elise, Mollie and I got in the car and headed to my sister Melanie and her family's house in Kaysville for fun, food, and festivities. The main purpose in our trip was to see my nephew, Evan, in the play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
put on by the Kaysville/Fruit Heights Community. He was in the children's choir. It was outstanding, and so much fun. Great Job, Evan. Tyler stayed at Melanie's with the girls, so Reagan and I went to the play with Grandma and Grandpa, Rachel and all of Melanie's family.

The kids got to play with their cousins, Evan, Jenna, Alyssa, and Hailey. I still think Reagan and Alyssa could pass for twins. Best buddies.

We ate BBQ hamburgers, the kids stayed cool in the pool and we spent a great day together.

Of course, the day ended with fireworks from Lagoon that we watched from Melanie's front yard and sparklers and other fireworks. Had a great time, thank-you everyone.

Fourth of July Traditions

Every 4th of July, or close to it, Tyler and I watch the film 1776 portraying the Continental Congress in their efforts to create, pass and sign the Declaration of Independence. We love this film as we both love the history of this amazing country. The kids wanted to watch it with us this year and they made it through most of it, but at one point Reagan fell asleep and Elise decided he would make a great pillow. Can we all say "Princess"?

Happy Week of the 4th of July!
