Twin Falls is a safer city

Tyler started a new job as an EMT with the Magic Valley Paramedics this week. He is so excited and so far loves working with patients and driving around in an ambulance is pretty cool too. This is one of the steps in our journey toward PA school, so we are thrilled with it.

He looks like he just stepped off the set of Grey's Anatomy, McSteamy and McDreamy got nothin' on my McHottie. (OK, I recognize that was completely corny and over the top, but oh well, my blog!)

The tough part is his schedule, he is working 2-24 hours shifts each week as well as still in school full time and juggling his other part time job at the hospital in transport. Yikes. We don't see him much, so when we do, we love it.

Funny Kids

I was looking through recent pictures on my camera and came across a couple of videos that I thought I would share. I also came across, oh about 25 pictures Mollie had taken. Didn't even know she had my camera. I erased most of them since they were of every toy we own and the cartoons her sister was watching and the wall..., but I couldn't resist the ones she took of herself. So enjoy funny moments with the Larsens.

This one is a pretty normal event at our house, "attack dad" Sometimes they all gang up on him, other times they tag team. Tyler's a good sport!

Happy March Birthday Madness

Tyler and Reagan decided this year their birthday celebration was going to be appropriately titled, March Birthday Madness". It was going to begin Thursday (Tyler's Birthday) when they awoke and would not end until Saturday (Reagan's birthday) when they went to bed.

It was so much fun. Together, they created a list of activities they were going to participate in. Since it was Spring Break for both of them, it made it the perfect scenario. So here is the list:

• Tyler and Reagan have a sleepover in Reagan's room and enjoy breakfast in bed

The girls and I brought them breakfast in bed

• Make real sling shots for each of them

They made 2 of them, I'm so impressed how well they turned out

• Go the the Dollar store and buy their own gift

Tyler bought kites and Reagan wanted a whoopee cushion

• Go bowling (that didn't work out due to the State women's bowling tournament, who knew)
• Go see the movie Roderick Rules, just the 2 of them

• Lunch at Gertie's

Kids had a blast playing in the game room; too bad we wouldn't give them any quarters, we are so mean.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We love St. Patrick's Day around here and it wouldn't be as much fun without a visit from a sneaky little leprechaun. He left our toilet water green, colored our pop-up pancakes and syrup green, and left a fun bowl of green treats for for the kids.

My mom was always so much fun on St.Patrick's Day and it seems it has trickled down to her kids. Most of my sisters had a leprechaun visit their house too!

So, I hope you all have a very lucky and happy St. Patrick's Day as well and may a little leprechaun visit your home too!

Death by Chocolate

I have been in a Cooking Group for almost a year and I finally decided it was my turn to host. Each month there is a different theme from cheese, to healthy foods to BBQ side dishes, breakfast foods etc. Well since it is February and let's face it, I love chocolate, I decided to do a Death by Chocolate night. It was so much fun and there were so many yummy treats, but best of all some fun recipes to try out.

I made peppermint patties that, I am not kidding taste just like the real thing, which is dangerous for me since that is by far, my all time favorite treat.

I also made some Mexican hot chocolate, so good and with a perfect little kick of cayenne pepper, love it.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! What a fun holiday this is. A few years back , I got a great idea from, ironically, an ex-boyfriend's wife, to decorate the breakfast table in a cute valentine way. I love doing it and putting the emphasis on just simply celebrating love in a family.

The kids were so fun, and made it all worth it. Can't get enough accolades from them. We had pink pancakes, a few I even shaped into hearts,
and then they got to just enjoy the goodies. I love their sleepy little eyes, and the smiles we got when they saw the table.

After the 2 older kids had left for school, Mollie and I were cleaning up and she said: "Mom, that wonderful breakfast was just lovely, I just had to tell you that!" Aaaaaawwww! Melt my heart. What a doll, so much fun when the kids get in to it.

Why blog?

I am trying to decide why I blog? Is it for journaling purposes, is it to stay connected with friends and family, is it for feedback in the comments, is it a combination of all of the above or just because blogging is there? I do things and often my first thought is, "I should blog that." Then I think, why, who cares?

When I journal on the Internet is it truly journaling, or do I only put in the pretty stuff? Ya, I keep it pretty, but it's not that I don't want to remember some of the bumps, it's more I don't know who is reading this and I don't know if I want the world to read about everything in my life, that's a scary thought.

So, here is my question, why blog? What's the payback?
