Musings

I am sitting here at my computer as tonight is my live online office hours, but just like every week, not a single student has logged in, so alas I sit here and wait. I even offered extra credit this time to come and say hi and ask me a question. I guess they are all doing so well, they don't have any questions (LOL).

So, I decided to put this time to use blogging. I had my 20 week ultrasound yesterday and all appears to be good. We didn't get very good shots this time, the baby was not really wanting to make much of an appearance. This is the best one and you can see the baby sucking on its fist, so that is kind of cute. Like all of my other pregnancies we have chosen to not find out the sex of the baby, we like the surprise in the delivery room. (Or maybe we just like to be annoying). The baby is weighing about 12 oz. so Dr. Smith said it was kind of like a Diet Coke. That's funny.I have included a key in case you look at this and go, "WHAT?"
I am feeling really good. I get frustrated with myself that I have not kept up as good of a running schedule as I told myself I would, but at least I am trying and I have done more running and exercise these last 5 months than I did with all 3 previous pregnancies put together, so that is a plus. My goal is to not gain as much weight as I did with Mollie, wow that was a lot, and so far so good. I am just really glad I am not hungry around the clock like I was the first 4 months. I would wake up 2-3 times a night starving and if I tried to ignore it and not eat, I ended up getting sick, so I ate. But like I said, not so much a problem now.

I am very anxious to have some warm weather to go running in, I hate the rain. Keep your
fingers crossed. Come on Spring, you can make it!

Tomorrow I am heading to Park City with 4 of my sisters and my mom for a weekend get-away, can't wait. I'll be sure and post pictures upon my return.

Happy Belated St. Patty's Day

I didn't get around to posting a St. Patrick's Day wish yesterday, so this one is a day late, but may the luck of the Irish be with you today as well. I would love to say it was because I was out and about having so much fun, but it was a mood thing, just wasn't in a blogging mood. The girls were all decked out in green, Reagan is not pictured because he was wearing Khaki pants and a blue shirt. He wanted to trick everyone into pinching him, so he wore hidden green. I asked Tyler if I had to fall for it and alas we figured it would be the nice thing, so I pinched him and he thought that was the best thing ever. In return he got to pinch me 10 times, Ouch. Oh to be 6, (well almost 7 again).

The girls and I did have a little hair day and did fun stuff with green elastics and hair bows. Sadly, I have to post it because we didn't go anywhere so, it was an "all dressed up an nowhere to go" kind of day. I am so glad I captured this side shot of Mollie, because although in this, she hadn't done anything wrong, this is the look we get when she has messed up, like getting into my make up or spilling something. It is hilarious. I think she figures we will jsut go away if she hides long enough behind her hands. We usually end up having to stifle laughs becausse she will briefly peek out to ssee if we ar still there.

Elise has been asking for me to do the Flower again on her hair, so I obliged and it was so cute with the big green bow on it. Loved it. (Hair bows courtesy of 'Lil Critters)

Bad Day!

Have you ever had a day when you just think it might be better to have stayed in bed? If the answer is no, then stop reading here. If the answer is yes, then I would imagine you will understand and take pity on my pathetic self.

Ok, I am in that really obnoxious pregnant stage where my pre-pregnancy clothes don't fit and yet maternity looks absolutely ridiculous. So, today I wore some of my, completely-non-flattering-comfortable-fat-pants and a long sleeve cotton tee, baggy. I look frumpy, but I was doing laundry and cleaning so who really cares, right. Well I had to run to Smith's and the cashier asked me if I work at Walmart. AAAGGHH, I don't even shop at Walmart, I know I look frumpy, but really a Walmart uniform is that what I look like? Needless to say this outfit is officically banned from public.

Well, I tried to get over it, and the rest of the day was going ok. Tyler came home and we decided to go look at some homes, as we are currently house hunting, (a whole entire other headache) and so we all jumped in the car and headed out to see what we could see. Upon our arrival home, I noticed glass near Tyler's truck. Yes, his driver side window has been compeletely smashed in, glass inside and out and everywhere. I so did not need this.

Ok, I am done complaining, and I think I am going to go sit in front of the tv, and sulk. Hopefully a better day tomorrow!

Survivor and Amazing Race

So those of you who know me, know I am a huge reality TV fan. Not dumb ones, like Wife Swap, but the cool ones like Survivor and Amazing Race. Well, I am in heaven, they both just started their new seasons in the last 2 weeks and so Thursdays and Sundays are my favorite days. Tyler and I watch together and every episode consists of conversations such as, "When we do this race, we would choose this task", or "I can't believe she just said that, when I am on the show I would do it this way...". Last night Tyler even asked, "So, how well would it work to go over the things we did right and wrong after a challenge? Would it work to re-hash the challenges?"
So there is a peek into my love of reality tv life. Now you know, if I don't answer my phone on Thursday or Sunday, it might be because I am in the middle of my favorite show.

Happy Valentine's Day

A friend of mine gave me the idea to have the kids wake up on Valentine's morning to a table covered in fun goodies. So this year we decided to do just that and I had so much fun putting it together and the kids loved it. It wasn't so much candy, but fun little goofy things that they all got a kick out of. Tyler picked up some Valentine's Day donuts for breakfast and it has been such a fun morning.

Breakfast time!
(And apparently there is a smudge on my camera lens, sorry about that!)

I also got some video of the kids playing with their new punching balloons. It was hilarious, they got such a kick out of it and as you can see the blue balloon on the side, Tyler had some fun too.

A friend of mine posted this article on Face book and I had to copy it here. Read for yourself.

Mollie is 2...

No, it is not her birthday again, it is just she is acting more and more like a 2 year old everyday. This past week, work has been pretty busy and I have had to spend a little more time on the computer during the day, which I usually try and avoid. Well, I learned the hard way, why I have been avoiding it.
Tuesday, she completely emptied my cupboards and laid everything out neatly on the floor. I was actually ok with it, since it was needing some organization, so I let her have fun, it kept her busy for over and hour and now my cupboard is neat and clean.

Notice at this point, she had already started putting things away. (Forgive my dirty floors, I told you it has been a busy week!)

How could I even get mad at that little face though.

Thursday she decided to get ready to go, we were headed out to go to Target and I had just finished her hair. I left the bathroom mistake #1 and not 2 minutes later when I returned this was what I found. She decided mascara made lovely lipstick. Ya, if you sing with KISS. AAAgghh. mistake #2. Because I am such a brilliant parent in my efforts to clean her up, I explained mascara is not for lips it is for eyes. Guess what? The next day, she got the mascara and put it on her eyes. Sorry no picture of this, but imagine a clown, ya, that's what she looked like.
She is so much fun, but wow, she is a busy little monkey!
